President and Medical Director
As founder of Diablo Clinical Research, Dr. Weinstein has
been principal investigator in over 400+ clinical trials and
has experience in protocol writing and consultation on protocol
design.
Dr. Weinstein, board certified in Endocrinology and Internal
Medicine, is also the medical director of both Diablo Clinical
Research and the Osteoporosis Center at John Muir/Mt. Diablo
Health Network. He is past Director of the Diabetes Center
and Endocrine Section at John Muir Medical Center and also
maintained a private practice, Contra Costa Endocrine Associates,
for 30 years.
Many of Dr. Weinstein’s past patients are now part
of the research clinic’s database, comprised of over
9000 subjects. Dr. Weinstein now devotes his time to clinical
research, and lectures on topics in the areas of Endocrinology
and Metabolism at local and national meetings, and more recently
via Internet talks.
Richard Weinstein, MD attended medical school at the University
of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internship
and residency at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital,
Western Reserve University. He also completed a Clinical Research
Fellowship in Endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital,
Harvard Medical School.
He is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology,
and a current member, as well as past board member of the
American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He has
a membership in the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association,
National Osteoporosis Foundation and the International Society
of Clinical Densitometry. He also has publications in the
areas of diabetes, obesity, puberty, gonadal disorders and
parathyroid disease.
